Center for Structural Biology
College: College of Science
Department: Biochemistry and Biophysics
Director: Dr. James C. Sacchettini
Main Mission: Research
Brief Description: The ultimate goal of Dr. Sacchettini's research is to improve the detection and treatment of several critical diseases, including tuberculosis, Alzheimer's disease, cancer, and malaria--diseases that are difficult to treat, and that kill millions of people each year. In addition, the emergence of drug-resistant forms of tuberculosis, malaria and cancer requires the development of new, potent drugs to combat these health threats.
